When people find out that I am a vegetarian, I am met with all sorts of things. Curious looks. Blank stares. 5000 questions. When I was new to this gig, it used to intimidate the heck out of me. I was always afraid that I would somehow be challenged by someone who knew more than I did about nutrition and they would debunk everything that made me WANT to eat the way that I eat. I have a secret addiction to both my pressure cooker and my crock pot. They make meals so stinking easy and especially soups. During the cooler months, I could eat soups 24/7. They are filling. Ok, so, if you have been reading our posts for any length of time, you know that we support a plant based diet. Yep, I have been a veg gal for over 7 years now. It wasn’t an easy transition for me but it made perfect sense. Today, I would like to share with you why I kicked the critter products to the curb.
In my quest for health, I sucked up TONS of books, read countless studies and spoke to many experts. The only message that was continuous and stayed consistent throughout countless sources was that a plant based diet greatly lowered my risk for cancer, heart disease, diabetes, alzheimers and countless other diseases.
