Thai yoga is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. It is both energizing for your body and deeply relaxing.
Our Thai Yoga sessions are performed on a mat on the floor; both client and practitioner are dressed in comfortable clothing allowing ease of movement and flexibility. Shelah guides the student through a series of assisted yoga positions while palming various energy points of the body. Together these actions result in a comprehensive full body treatment that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system and balances the body energetically.
Thai yoga works in a similar way to regular yoga poses. As the client holds a pose, blood slows to targeted areas. When the client releases the pose, fresh circulation rushes back into the area. Thai yoga is effective in refreshing circulation and can help with lymphatic drainage, the return of blood to the heart and digestion.
Our Thai yoga also incorporates meditation, which can help the client manage stress and let go of negative emotions. Shelah works to carefully help the client find the connection between exterior, or physical issues, and interior issues of the mind and heart.
Each session last approximately 60 minutes.
