Hi There, Awesome Warriors.
I have learned that life is much more enjoyable when we find ways to live it fully. Laughing and enjoying every single moment. I teach my classes that way. I lecture that way. I train that way. If it’s not fun for people, how do you expect them to WANT it?
I also don’t believe that there is one single path to optimal health that suits every single person. I look at each student and each client as their own individual being. Each person has their own back story and their own likes and dislikes. My strength is being able to find what works for the people that I work with…and we have a heck of a lot of fun on the journey. ~ Shelah Davis
In 2006 Shelah entered the fitness world as a contributing writer for OurWickedWays.com. OWW was created initially as a place to educate and inform the general public about all the misinformation that they had been gobbling up over the past decade with regard to diets, food and health. Shelah joined the Wicked Ways team because she was sick and tired of reading articles full of BS in various magazines and worse yet, she got sick of deprogramming her family and friends when they would actually believe the junk they read/saw/swallowed from the trending sources. She was on her own health journey at the time. For her, the journey involved dropping over 100 pounds and fighting off her family history of heart disease, cancer and diabetes. Her passion for health and fitness has carried her through from being a writer at Our Wicked Ways to launching her own company, ShelahDavis.com.
Shelah says that what has driven her in her career was the desire to share accurate knowledge of the rather overwhelming food & fitness industry. She has maintained her desire to teach others to eat a whole foods diet to obtain optimal health all along.
Education & Certifications
Shelah is a Certified AFPA Nutritional Counselor with a specialization in Holistic Nutrition. She is also a Certified RRCA Running Coach, a Certified Yoga Fit Instructor, a certified Meditation Guide, a level 2 Reiki Practioner, a Certified AFPA Personal Trainer, a Certified Curvy Yoga instructor, a Chakra Sound Bowl Therapist, a Certified Vibrational Crystal Healer, a Nutritional Lecturer, a Motivational Speaker and in October of 2013, her first book “I Got This” hit the market.
She believes in teaching body positive fitness and nutrition. Every shape. Every size. Every person. Every BODY is beautiful and deserves magnificent health. Her classes are packed with people from every walk of life. Men, women and children. Professionals & stay at home moms. Students & retirees.
Shelah has studied with many of the leaders in our world in the field of nutrition and fitness. Health isn’t just a career for her, it is indeed her passion.
Shelah is a mom of 3 teenagers and a wife. She is passionate and LOVES people. She likes to keep things real, for herself, her family and her clients. (Although she only admits to being 29 with a few years worth of experience.) That desire to be true to herself is why she proudly admits to loving coffee in the mornings, cursing in traffic and enjoying a good craft beer with dinner. She also feels that its ok that she sometimes doesn’t feel all zen/yogi like.
I think it is ridiculous to put all of this pressure on ourselves and others to be perfect all the time. We are real humans. We have real stresses. Real jobs. Real passions. Real circumstances that all affect us differently. It is what makes this world so incredible – each person is entirely different so we react and respond to things differently. As fitness and nutrition experts, how can we possibly think that a generic form of training or that one diet will work for every single person?
I am no different than any of my students or clients. I simply have a lot of experience and education in certain fields that can help people to reach their health and fitness goals.
